Presentation

Discovery hike of Varredes and Germigny-l’Évêque. There were located the ancient residences of Meaux's bishop.

1) From the train station, take the alley along the railway, climb the steps and go up on the left by rue de Germigny. Go down the rue du Bac on the right, follow the Marne on the left and climb the bridge by a bad staircase. Cross the Marne.

2) Take the path to the right and follow the right bank of the river. Pass the nautical circle of Poincy, then the hostellerie du Moulin by the small road. The path (muddy in wet weather) goes through undergrowth, then leads into the fields.

3) The path turns left then right and joins the edge of the Marne at the level of Ile aux Bœufs. Take the path along the ditch to the left, the path to the right and at the entrance to Varreddes (junction, opposite on the left, with the PR® "between Marne and Thérouanne) the D97, to the right. Cross the Marne.

4) After the bridge go down on the left by the wooden staircase, follow the edge of the river on the right, pass under the vestige of the old bridge and reach the Place de Germigny-l'Evêque. Leave the river, and in front of the war memorial, take rue de l'Eglise on the right.

5) Turn right then enter the wolf lane on the left. Continue on the dirt road along the wall. At the end, turn slightly left, enter the Bois de la Mairesse and, after 150 m, take the straight path on the right. Cut the D17, continue for 100 m, then fork in the wide alley on the left.

6) Continue straight ahead (access to GR®11), weave through the layon on the right, then take the Belle-Laie road on the left. Before the railway, take the path on the right. He leaves the forest and goes behind the station. Follow the D17 on the left to cross the railway, then turn left to join the
Trilport station.
