And to discover the gastronomy of Meaux Marne Ourcq with your children, here are a few suggestions just for you.

Meet the king of cheeses at Maison du Brie de Meaux…

Do you know the history of the famous Brie de Meaux, king of cheeses and prince of desserts?

Young and old alike can follow the educational trail at the Maison du Brie de Meaux to find out all about the history and production of our Brie de Meaux PDO. From collecting the milk through to the maturing process, through all the stages of production, you’ll learn all the secrets of the region’s gastronomic symbol!

Family experiences

All year round, the Maison du Brie de Meaux has family tours and workshops. The schedule includes experiments, cookery workshops and craft activities based around milk, cheese and the farm. Every Wednesday during the school holidays!

Ask for the activity booklet

For children aged 7 and over, ask for the Maison du Brie de Meaux activity booklet to discover the route in a fun way. Younger children can complete it with the help of a parent of course!

Speak the Brie language!

In Meaux Marne Ourcq, when you take a family photo, you don’t say “ouistiti” or “cheese” (permitted if you live abroad!) No. Here, we say “Briiie”! Don’t forget to share your best “Briiiie” shots in Meaux Marne Ourcq!  #mmotourisme

… AND say hello to the goats in Tancrou

Meet the goats Mathilde, Bertin and Clément at the Moret goat farm, in Tancrou.

The 200 “alpine goats” at Vallière Farm produce milk from March to December. It’s this good milk that the cheese-makers use to make quality farmhouse cheeses, such as crottins, logs and petit chèvre d’Ile-de-France!

To find out which is your favourite, don’t hesitate to visit the shop and discover the different maturing processes on offer, from fresh to strong.

Our top tip with children

Don’t forget to come and say hi to the goats and kids when the shop is open and to watch the goats being milked every day at 5pm!
