Want to discover the city of Meaux by bike?
No problem! Meaux has a number of cycle paths linking the town’s main tourist and cultural attractions.
What can you see by bike in Meaux?
From Meaux station to the episcopal city via the Saint-Faron dairy, get on your bike and come and explore the city.
Make the most of the pretty floral arrangements along the way in this “town in bloom“, which has been awarded the “4 flowers” label for over 20 years!
If you’re feeling brave, try climbing the Route de Varreddes! It’s well worth the effort as the road leads straight to the Great War Museum; Europe’s largest museum devoted to WWI. It’s very easy to ride on an electric bike (that’s a bit of a cheat, but that’s just between us)!
Two hours cycling in Meaux
Do you have less than two hours, a bike, and want to discover different landscapes in record time?
Then head straight to Parc du Pâtis. From the heart of the city, cycle along the Marne and enter via the Meaux beach. Cycle past this sandy beach and into the park. First wooded, then wilder, it fades away to make way for numerous ponds inhabited by over 70 species of birds. Continue on past a meadow and then a cultivated plot. Come back through the reed bed, before stepping ashore onto a floating footbridge! You’re still in Meaux: so near and yet so far away.
On the way back, take advantage of the shared walk to have a break and appreciate the view of the Marne and the Saint-Etienne cathedral.
